There is little in the Oban area in terms of rough camping but there are 3 camp sites in the immediate vicinity of Oban and several more in the surrounding area.

Oban Divers Camp site

Situated on the hill above the Sound of Kerrara it is about 2 miles out of the town centre.

Oban Camping and Caravan Site

On the shore side opposite the Island of Kerrara the site is about 2 miles out of the town.

Ganavan Sands
Ganavan is Oban’s main beach and is about 3 miles to the north of Oban. The beach is served by a bus service.
Out of Oban to the north there are camp sites in Glencoe and Fort William for those heading to the hills and to the south there is a site at Arduaine right on the shore which is very popular with sea canoeists looking to explore Scarba and the Garvellachs.
